Building a strong brand is very important for attracting customers in today's business world. Brand recognition and loyalty go a long way to insulating businesses from attempts at taking market share through price wars and fancy PR campaigns. Branding need not be, however, a multi-million dollar exercise.

Think about this, you almost can't go anywhere these days without seeing people dressed in clothing featuring printed or embroidered corporate logos. It is ubiquitous. Banks, fast food chains, car makers, telecommunications companies, and even fraternal organizations successfully promote their brands with logos on clothing. You can often easily identify employees and/or faithful customers by the brands on their clothing.

Your corporate logo on clothing, bags and other merchandise make excellent promotional items at corporate events and with customers. Friendly, helpful and conscientious staff wearing promotional clothing can enhance the company's reputation while building brand awareness. T-shirts and polo shirts are the most common branded clothing items. T-shirts are a good way to create a larger promotional clothing campaign with a small budget – single color logo on a white shirt should not run more than $3 per item. Polo shirts, on the other hand, while slightly more costly (about $15 to $25 per shirt), create a more professional appearance when worn by staff at conferences and trade shows. For a fully branded look, logos can be printed or embroidered on caps, jackets, lanyards, trousers, shoes, and just about anything else you can think of. We even had a company approach us with an idea to ‘wrap’ the car hoods of company cars with a marketing message.

It is not hard to get the branded clothing into circulation – just give it to good customers. People love free clothing, whether they have previously heard of your company or not, there will be an occasion when they put on the goods. The minute that they do so, they become a living billboard for everyone to see.

When “shopping” for your next promotional idea consider a clothing purchase. If your customers are golfers – get the logo on a glove as well as the golf balls. Think outside the norm and boost your awareness even faster. At the very least – get your staff into logo adorned shirts.

With a little information, like your budget and what you're looking for, a good business gift supplier can make suggestions as to what items they offer that will best fit your needs.
