So last time we talked about Engage and Encourage. How we suggest listening and then getting chat up among ”the troops”  to begin to build a sense of community or of a movement.  Now we’ll move on to Invite and Involve.   This is about meaningful feedback – some of which may turn out to be actionable and about getting the rest of the team involved with the community so that there are more points of contact and a wider range of discussion topics – remember the goal is to have meaningful interaction and a “great experience.”

INVITE: get your supporters to talk back to you. So beyond having the group talk among themselves they also need opportunity to talk back to you.  Conduct live chats or video conferences, uploads ads for comments, keep a “diary” blog, do anything that invites supporters to put in their ‘two cents.’  Similarly, keep experimenting with new ways to interact with your members to create a richer community experience.

INVOLVE: get all facets of the campaign staff involved in the open discussions.
Maybe you get the finance director to ‘chat’ with the group about the importance of giving and where the money is going, OR have the media guys talk about the strategy behind the spots  - don’t have them give away the secrets of what’s next however., OR have the field staff talk about rallies and the excitement on the ground. – doesn’t matter . . . just get more folks from inside talking to vary the conversations.
