Cable Gets More Penetration PDF Print E-mail

One of the drawbacks of cable has been poor penetration in a number of markets. That is not changing much in rural areas however in larger and midsized markets you can now add ATT U-verse and DirecTV to give your message a boost. These options are available in limited markets rolling out this Fall and Winter. A few examples of the increased reach are below:

  • Houston gains 35% penetration from ATT subscribers and 17% from DirecTV, a 52% gain over spot cable!
  • Chicago gains 15% and 10% respectively giving another 25%
  • Atlanta 10% and 14% respectively for 24% gain
  • Little Rocks gains nearly 15% from ATT


U-verse and DirecTV add ons must be bought at the DMA level you cannot buy them soft. These gains will make cable more attractive in the markets where available as well as a seamless addition. More markets are expected to be added in the future.
